CEDA – Who are we?

This month’s Blog features an interview with Kirstin Hatherley-Bramwell who is the Chairperson for CEDA discussing what they are all about!

I: What does the Acronym CEDA stand for?

K: Catering Equipment Distributors Association.

I: Who are your members and what is their business’s?

K: CEDA represents the most professional catering equipment distributors in the UK who adhere to the CEDA Customer Charter and CEDA Code of Good Practice.

More than 100 companies offer local and national support to all types of commercial catering and foodservice establishments.

With a combined turnover in excess of £450M which represents 50% of all catering equipment sold in the UK.

Our members offer a total solution which includes:

  • Kitchen design and refurbishment planning and layout
  • Advice on equipment selection and specification
  • Kitchen installation and project management, including plumbing, gas and electrical suppliers and building works such as new floors, walls or ceilings.
  • After sales support, service, preventative maintenance and breakdown cover.
  • Training for catering staff and managers in the use of new and existing equipment

They provide peace of mind, outstanding service and value for money.

I: How long has CEDA been in operation

K: CEDA was formed in April 1972

I: What is CEDA’s vision?

K: We want to be at the heart of an innovative, dynamic and sustainable Industry that we can positively and
proactively represent, promote and protect. We want to build a community of people and businesses, across the sector and through the supply-chain, that understand the value and strength of collaboration.
