This level 3 Food Allergen Management training is exclusively for businesses located within the Chesterfield Borough Council area and is provided at a highly discounted rate to help food business operators develop a strong understanding of food allergen awareness and management. Please note, we are currently not VAT registered; however, this may change, so we recommend booking early to avoid a potential 20% VAT increase. There is an option to take either the Food Allergen Awareness Training – level 2 or the Food Allergen Management Training – Level 3. Who should attend the Level 3 Food Allergen Management Training?
This qualification is aimed at individuals responsible for the production, ordering, purchasing, delivery, and service of food within ALL sectors of the catering industry and is also suitable for those who own/manage a small catering business. Ideally but not essential candidates should have a current certificate equivalent to Level 2 in Food Safety and a recognised certificate of training in Food Allergen Management.
Personal photographic ID is necessary for this qualification.
What’s Covered in the Food Allergen Management Training
- Control measures to minimise the risk of allergenic contamination and cross-contamination at all stages of the food chain, from supply to service.

- The importance of accurate and effective communication of ingredient information to the consumer and ways to manage this in your business.
- How to implement an effective allergen management system based on risk assessment.
Duration
10 Hours of which 7 are recommended as guided learning hours.
A Pre-course workbook will be sent to registrants 10 days prior to the training. This will need to be completed prior to the training and registrants will need to bring the completed workbook to the training.
Assessment
This qualification is assessed by a multiple-choice question paper which is marked by the centre. The pass mark is 20/30 with a distinction credit for a mark of over 25/30.
